Our town is so exciting...our pumpkin patch isn't even a real pumpkin patch. This is the only one we could find that's even a little close to us. That's OK though, I don't think the kids know the difference between a real pumpkin patch and a volleyball net at the closed waterpark with pumpkins spread around the field.
We went with Hailey's preschool to "the Pumpkin Patch" and let the kids each get a pumpkin. They had a lot of fun. They were pretty funny though, all the kids wanted tiny pumpkins instead of big ones to carve--but all the easier for me so I don't have to carry my kids big pumpkins out to the car. Here are some pictures of our fun...
Oh yeah, Tyler went yesterday with his class at school to this same pumpkin patch. Apparently there's a substance abuse class that goes along with the pumpkin patch. I know, when you think "Pumpkin Patch" doesn't "substance abuse" immediately come to mind? Unfortunately, the class was full and our preschoolers didn't get the exciting lecture on substance abuse...only the "pumpkin patch". Thank goodness.
Tyler did ask me though if I know what the new drug is--he informed me it's medicine. :) I told him he was right, we aren't supposed to take any medicine unless the doctor gives it to us. At least he learned something.

Backsplash
We finished the backsplash in our kitchen a couple weeks ago. I was so excited--I think that's like the last thing INSIDE our house to get done before it's "finished". Actually, Ashley's closet doesn't have doors--well, we HAVE them, they're just not ON the closet. Right now we're working on painting the outside of the house, pictures of that to come--but I digress.
Anyway, here is a picture of the backsplash...more importantly, the part I did on the backsplash :) My poor husband. He worked on it all weekend and was pretty tired of it so he decided to stop and finish the last five feet another day. (It was late and he had to get up pretty early--he had already done the whole kitchen) So I made him show me how to use the tile saw and I finished it while he was at work. You'd be surprised how long it takes to lay 5 feet--bunch of measuring, cutting, then recutting--walls are kind of a pain because you can't lay it all out to see what needs to be cut and do it all at once. You have to keep laying as you go--then going in and out of the garage to cut what needs to be cut :) ...all the while trying to get it laid before the mortar starts to get too hard. (Pretend you don't see dirty dishes in the sink.)
So, I'm pretty proud that I was able to help and that it looks decent--plus it's still on the wall after two weeks so I must have done something right.
About the frog...I know, it's not that exciting--and all of you who live around here have already heard this boring story...
When I went to go clean out the pan of water under the tile saw (the next day) there was a frog in the pan. I don't know how he jumped up there. The tile saw was on a table that was at least 3 feet high. With nothing around it to jump on and then up to the table. I don't even know how he got in our garage. Crazy. So I went to get my camera to show Trevor the picture of the frog when he got home, and the frog jumped out of the water onto the garage floor. Exciting. I know.

San Antonio
This last weekend we took a trip to San Antonio. It was A LOT of fun. We were able to stop by and see my friend, Nancy--that was GREAT. I haven't seen her in a LONG time. Then we went to the riverwalk, and to Sea World. Here's a slideshow of some of the pictures we got:
