Don't cry over spilled milk

On Funniest Home Videos sometimes they have these videos of toddlers that have gotten into the chocolate syrup and spread it all over the carpet, walls, beds, etc. To me I think it's funny because I don't have to clean up the mess. It's kind of funny to see the chocolate covered kids. But for the life of me I can't figure out why parents film this, and much less laugh about it during the whole clip. I can say I would be pretty mad at the kid because they probably knew better. And also in the back of my mind I think that if the parents were WATCHING their child, this wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Now, this particular incident happened after lunch. It was almost nap time and the kids had eaten their lunch and left their cups of milk sitting on the table. I was trying to catch the end of American Idol that I recorded last night when Ashley comes wandering in all nonchalant looking like this. I asked her what happened and she points to the dining room. I should have taken a picture of the dining room, but I wiped up all the spilled milk before I thought to take a picture of it. Yes, I wiped up the dining room before I wiped up my daughter. And for a good reason: because I knew if I wiped her up first, she would be PLAYING in the milk while I was trying to clean up the rest of the mess, and therefore getting herself all milky and sticky again. You should have seen the dining room. You would think two cups of milk could not go far, but you'd be wrong. It was EVERYWHERE. On the wall, the curtains, the table, the rug, the chair...EVERYWHERE. Little stinker. But it was kind of funny. Especially looking at her cute milk droplet face.

So, maybe it's a little stupid posting something so little as spilled milk, but maybe other moms can relate :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREVOR!

It was Trevor's birthday on the 24th. He's now 31--as you can see by the candles on his cake, we didn't go with 31 candles but used a little trick my mom uses: we put 3 candles in a group, and then 1 candle next to the group of three. Makes sense to me!

We sure love you Trevor! Thank you for being the wonderful husband and father that you are!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

New Runway

Trevor really likes to fly remote control airplanes. Well, the runway he and his friends used to fly on was on post and the army decided to tear down the runway to build some different buildings. Anyway, the little flying club found this big field to lease and they have been having a couple days where they all come and work to put in this new runway. It's like a trampoline like material and they kind of stake it into the dirt.

I took the kids to come see it and all the old guys (I'd say 99% of them are about 60 or older) were all excited to see the kids come and help. They all got out there cameras and took pictures of the kids "helping" their dad. They even put the kids picture on their website. Funny old guys.

Valentine's dance

So, I'm kicking myself because I forgot my camera AGAIN! I'm not good at the pictures, Trevor is the one taking all the pictures.

Anyway, Tyler had a Sweetheart Dance at his school. The boys were supposed to have a mom or Grandma come and the girls were to have fathers or grandfathers come and dance with them.

It was SOO cute. We did the Hoky-Pokey and YMCA and the Chicken Dance, there was even a slow dance in there. It was fun to see all the kids dance. And even funnier to see all the little kids get all decked out. Some of the little boys had tiny tuxes on, and some of the little girls had this big frilly prom-dress like dresses on with their hair all done up. Maybe I'm just a boring mom, but Tyler and I went casual. I didn't get a picture, but one of the other parents in Tyler's class took one of us. So if I get it, I'll post it...I'm not holding my breath.

Sit-ups

Trevor has these tests for the army two times a year where he has to do so many situps/pushups in two minutes and then a two mile run under a set time. So a little before these tests come up he'll practice to make sure he can pass. Anyway, the kids watch him and then try to imitate him and I think it's really cute. I should have taken some video...but I didn't.

What Age Do You Act

You Act Like You Are 28 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.

You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.

The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

Wow--It was right on with me!! (Or at least I act my age)
